1.1 Can a tape that has been accessed and is therefore loaded but not online be put online without ejecting and re-inserting the tape?
Assume your tape drive is LDEV 7.
a) If you have VESoft's MPEX you can do:
%devcontrol 7;online
b) If you have Allegro's freeware ONLINE program (available at http://www.allegro.com/software/ ) you can do:
:online 7
c) Use the HP's DEVCTRL command file:
:devctrl.mpexl.telesup 7,,,online
The nice thing about option b, the ONLINE program, is that it waits for AVR (Automatic Volume Recognition) before returning to the user.
