7.17 Is there a free (or nearly free) and easy way to send SMTP mail from an HP3000 to either a Unix Box or NT SMTP gateway?

Yes. Telamon (ftp.telamon.com) has a mail program (MAIL) that does it. Easy to set up and works well. Run it with no arguments to get usage information. Certain standard values (e.g. smtp host) can be set up in CI variables. In batch, the '-m $stdlist' option will cause the current spool file to be mailed. Note: The Telamon MAIL program must be in a group with PM capability. If you need something more robust, try Sendmail/iX, ported by Mark Bixby (http://www.bixby.org/mark/sendmailix.html).
